Hewes Crab
Hewes Crab is a vigorous, extremely cold hardy and spreading tree, bearing heavy crops. It should be planted with another crab for pollination, although it is being suggested that it’s self-fertile and was commonly used historically in orchards as a primary pollinator for many apple varieties. Hewes Crab was also historically used as a cold hardy rootstock in many northern stated and is currently one of the top cider crab apples. Wildlife Species: Whitetail, Turkey.
